“Guys. It s been kim chick bono. Today. I am back with a tutorial on on how to make one of these handy dandy scrunchie apple wristwatch bin bracelets.
I no idea what it s called basically i saw a girl post about inventing. These like a couple months ago on twitter. And there s no tutorial on youtube or like anywhere on the internet. I how to make one so i figured i ll learn how to make one myself.
So i did and i want to share with you guys people are really hoping the price of how much they re worth and if you buy the materials on your own you know obviously you save so much more money than buy from someone who wants to make a profit. Which is not a bad thing. It s just that like i think the girl who made them should get a lot more credit for them anyway. Without any further ado.
Let s get started ask for materials go you ll need some fabric of your choice elastic. The parts for the actual apple watch i will link that in the description. Scissors..
Some kind of measuring tool and a safety pin. Oh yes. In a sewing machine. Because that s really important.
When it comes to sewing okay. So this is everything that comes in the pack. I couldn t tell you what they say or what it does but as for these parts. These this is the magnet that goes in your apple watch that actually attaches to it and then these little screws go in there so i m gonna figure out how to put those in and i m gonna do this first just so i know how big to make the actual scrunchies.
So it s able to fit through that little loop for anyone who s wondering that was really hard to do i don t know if it s because i have nails on. But i think you can buy these like this with the rod already in there so if you can do that i d encourage that but anyway. It s done now we can get to the actual scrunch in making yay. So you ll notice that this is not the right size.
I measured this wrong and ended up changing fabrics after sewing. But ask for your measurements you re going to want to make sure that this short side is three inches long and the long side is 23 inches long. I did this one wrong..
And it four by eighteen do not do that so yours should look skinnier than mine now for this next step i m gonna fold the fabric in half and you ll see some people will pin it this way i don t have that kind of time so i m just gonna iron. It in half and now that it s ironed. I m going to when i sewed. I ended up using half an inch seam allowance.
So that should be good for you also this is the part where i realize i did my measurements of fabric wrong. And you ll see me change from african print to white print. Do not be alarmed. If you did everything that i said you should do up to this point and all your measurements match.
What i said you should do you should be fine. When you re done sewing you should have this it s basically a tube like you can stick your finger through it and now what we re gonna do is flip. It inside out. So you ll take your safety pin and put it through one side of the scrunchie and close the safety pin.
So as you can see it s hooked up onto just this side. Then you ll flip the pin in and basically push all the way through the scrunchie and you ll pull like periodically. Until you get all the way to the end when you re done with that you should have this next..
What you ll do is take your elastic and cut six inches. Again that s just also going to depend on your with your wrist size. If your risk is like a little bigger you might want to add like half an inch. If it s a little smaller or you like them tight.
You might want to take down like half an inch. It just depends on your preference now we re gonna thread the elastic through the tube. So i like to put my safety pin through one side of the elastic and then i actually do like to take a safety pin to hold this side in place. You ll see what i mean in just second.
So we ll stick this through and start to push it through the elastic and once this side reaches the end here i m gonna pin. It right inside of that like line it up with the end of this fabric and pin. It right there and then we can continue threading the rest of it when i gets the other side. I d like to do the same thing and just pin that side right along the edge of that fabric to now you should have this shave and this is going to be event.
So all you have to do now is sew and attach it to the magnets for this part you re just gonna sew a straight line across both ends of the scrunchie make sure that you sew on top of the elastic. You can t really see it here because it blends in with the fabric. But the elastic is pinned in there and you ll want to make sure that the elastic is also sewn on to the fabric..
You this is probably the least fun part just because it s a little time consuming. But basically we want to just fit each side of the scrunchie into each of the magnet holes. So this took me a really freaking long time hence the fact that it s in fast forward. But it will fit if you have a 42 millimeter apple.
Watch hook. If you have a smaller one you may need to make your scrunchie a little skinnier. I haven t worked with smaller apple watches so i don t know the exact measurements. But basically this will probably frustrate you fun fact just so you know it is pretty exciting when you do get it through because it just looks cute.
But this is what it should look like before you officially so there s the flap and you re just going to sew a straight line back and forth on that little flap you well ladies and gentlemen. This is what the final product looks like it s really exciting when you re completely done it just kind of sucks being in the process of making it. But i hope you guys like this tutorial. Don t forget to give it a like and subscribe and i ll see you guys.
